Let us be frank and ask ourselves this simple but yet intriguing question:
Why do we get angry/unhappy?

Possible factors could be differences in opinions, accumulated stress, wanting the best for someone or even nothing. (yes, think about it. we do get angry over nothing sometimes.)

Each one of us has different limits of stress we can take before the volcano in us erupts.
That's when a possibility of you taking it out on someone occurs, and you may regret it in time to come. That's what i do not want.
But this special someone of mine does not do exactly what the above picture depicts.
Instead, she keeps it in herself and, like a devil awaiting to crucify someone*, she ignores all my COUNTLESS pleas to ask her what's wrong. :(
(* just stating an analogy, i'm not anti-christ or something)

many a times, i'm left helpless and not knowing what to do.
i could try, but i'm never the type of person who could turn the tide by making you smile within hours after a certain fit of anger.
perhaps, this is the weakness of weaknesses of mine.
or there could be more weaknesses, i don't know.
but what i do know, is that my spirit is willing. ALWAYS willing.
willing to know what went wrong, willing to not repeat the mistake and learn from it.

so, i thought about it and the next time a fit of anger happens, perhaps it would help if you ask yourself these questions:

1) Why did the person did what he did?
(remember he/she always want the best for you, let alone hurt you on purpose or put you at a disadvantage.)

2) Ask yourself how long is the incident worth the anger? How long do you think the person needs, to learn from this mistake?
(Putting up temper tantrums over a small** incident, is it worth it? :/)

3) Lastly, do you think he/she will learn from that very mistake?
(how much importance does he/she place on you? and that 'supposed mistake' he/she made.)

When Mr. Reality punches you hard in the stomach and you fall to the ground, the feeling you get is super undesirable. You feel helpless, unable to speak and articulate your thoughts. All you really want is a helping hand, able to pick you up and it would definitely be a big plus, if it cheers you on through your journey. And i'm pretty sure this helping hand is just round the corner. Just that i seem unable to pick up the feint signal that the hand is present for this time round, sadly. :(

Maybe i should just rely on myself to get past these obstacles. I must stay strong. It's gonna be tough but i have to make it through alive. Money is a big factor, and i have to find a solution for this.

P.S. i realised i seldom post positive things on my blog. Mostly negative ones. :/ probably a way for me to take out my frustrations i guess.

seems like it's gone forever.
made a police report, did the neccessary paperwork at the police station, SMRT for my ezlink card but my goold, old wallet it's still not coming back to me. :(
grave mistake i have made this time round.
the worst part was when:
DBS bank sent me a letter informing me that someone tried to guess my PIN number after slotting my NETS card into the ATM. and the card was immediately terminated after he/she entered the wrong PIN a few times.
i was like 'WHAT THE F***' man. stunned.

people, oh people.
how i wished the guy who picked it up was a kind soul who realised how important a wallet is to a person.
i would never have done what this guy did, took my wallet and tried to hack into my bank account.
NEVER.

i thought that by calling you and asking a 'how's your day?' instead of texting you, (especially when it being a tiring day for you since you had to work really long hours that day), you could have someone to chat with while on the way home.

i could well say that my holidays have been well spent on.
two movies, hockey training sessions, just hanging out with the clique, birthday party, gymming etc.

tried roller-skating for the second time in my life and i well,

and you would ask, ''isn't that like the OTHER side of singapore?'' you betcha.

common sense tell us what to do in certain situations.
common sense also tell us that if we have to reject someone's idea to meet up, we would definitely provide the actual reason so that the person doesn't feel that disappointed. The other person would definitely feel worse if we had agreed to meet up a few days back. All the more, we should provide a reason.

putting yourself in the other person's shoes at the times would defnitely help.

to those peeps who didn't know, i'm currently in the Hockey IG now.
IG or Interest Group = CCA in RP terms.
you must be wondering what this tall fella is doing, playing hockey. -.-
hockey is no doubt one of the sports where you are bending for most of the time.
and being tall definitely doesn't mean height advantage.
no such thing as height advantage in hockey.
well my main motives would probably be to keep myself in tip-top physical condition, learn a new sport and probably make more new friends.

Let me tell you an interesting piece of event today.
a freaking hornet/wasp (whatever it was) flew to my window, carrying a looooong green worm.
it hovered around the window, before depositing the worm in a mini nest it had built at the top ledge of my window.
i was stunned for words, didn't realised it had already built a clay-like nest there. must have been there for days. (nest was about 3cm in diameter, not too huge i guess)
my mum (yes, my MUM!) took action immediately, closing the window once the hornet flew out, to prevent it from flying back.
out came a knife to break open the nest, with 2 green worms still wriggling inside.
they are probably food for the larva of the wasp/hornet.
she scrapped out the nest and put the pair of worms and the clay-like nest in a plastic bag.
job done. (kudos to my mum)
the unsuspecting hornet/wasp came back to the window looking for its nest.
and it was like 'Where's my nest? Where's my food? Arghhhh!'.
finally, it grew tired of finding it and left dejected.

finally got a job at the Resorts World Sentosa.
will be starting work as soon as mid-February.

and tomorrow's my first UT3.
big, big test for me.
a single UT3 carries 50% to 60% of a module grade.
screw it up and basically, you screwed yourself.
a module retake would be imminent.
possibly in year 3, from what i've heard.
chemistry, biology and maths are definitely my worst fears.

first post of 2010.

the bbq with my closest friends and my dearest was simply great.
didn't really count down the new year, just that when the clock struck 12, we all shouted 'HAPPY NEW YEAR' to those around us. (including the auntie who was watching her tv on the 12th floor of the HDB block.)
hehehe.
though the food was a tad bit tooooo much.
a random fact which i got from Rezal:
Muslims are not encouraged to celebrate the New Year too enthusiastically. If they did so, they would be showing disrespect to their own Muslim calendar.
hmm, gives something to ponder about. :/

on the 2nd of Jan, came another match with Chuankai's team.
although we lost 2-4, i felt i played quite well as a central midfielder.
scoring a rare goal for the team was incredible.
it all started with a cross from the right into the edge of the box.
initially, Sufyan wanted to gain control of it.
but upon seeing me rush to the ball, he immediately shun away, knowing i would strike the ball towards goal
struck the ball, i did.
plonked towards the top right hand corner of the goal.
and i was all smiles. :D

as it was last year, with us beating them twice, 7-0 and '(i couldn't remember the score)'
confidence booster for us, after that heart-wrenching loss to the 'unity NA 08' team.

Being a volunteer at the standard chartered marathon was fantastic.
whole new experience for me, got to know how things really work at such a mega event.
it's really beneficial for me, with me being in the sports industry in years to come.
stayed awake for 26 hours, a whole new record for me.

Singapore got a bronze in the end, beating Laos 3-1 in the third place play-off.

well at least it's still a medal right?

speaking of long-needed breaks, i'm having one right now.

till 4Jan, where everything goes back into place again.

gonna flood my hols with fun-filled activities, fully utilising my break.

an example would be tmr's bowling&badminton&soccer outing.

yes, that's right. 3 freaking sports in 1 freaking day.

sometimes, things take a turn for the worse.

but you can't just stand there and wait for luck to work it's way through.

fight for it, grab any chance that come by.

and you have yourself a brand new winner.

there ain't no fairytale ending to the match~
okay, let me be honest.
it wasn't supposed to be fairytale, this match was SUPPOSED to be a win for the Lions.
billed as one of the most important match in the history of Singapore football, a win would have brought Singapore closer to its Asian Cup finals' dream.
but the true Lions did not show up.
even if they did, they were outrageously tooth-less.
dissapointing, dissapointing, these 2 words probably sum up the match.
Singapore 1-3 Thailand.

it's really great to have the express team match back in action.
had a training session yesterday, which i felt was really effective in getting some of our boys back in tough shape.
Singapore 6-5 Myanmar.
no, there wasn't any match involving the 2 countries.
more on yesterday, where we met a team of Burmese playing street soccer.
they kinda asked us for a match and we agreed readily.
Boys on the scoresheet: Melvin (3), Haiman (2), Alfi (1)
I scored the first 2 goals while Alfi's strike was sandwiched between Haiman's double whammy on them. I added the coupe de grace at the end.
2 matches to come.

Okay alrights.
it's been waaaay too long since i updated.
and i know it's kinda frustrating to stumble onto my blog and go,

and i've also been receiving close to a million requests for me to update this damn blog. {seemingly}

well,
school started for all Republicans this week.
and it's back to the usual 'a-problem-a-day' style of learning.
one of the major changes was that the modules i take were changed to:

Mathematics II
Physics
Cognitive Processes and Problem Solving II
Chemistry
Molecular and Cell Biology (my personal favourite!)

these are in order from Monday to Friday.
on my class, i think they are a great bunch of people, just that we have yet to gel as a class.
and this time, my class are all made up of people from the sports science course. (including national paralympics swimmer Yip Pin Xiu. :)

on soccer, Arsenal continues their winning streak.
winning all of their last 6 games.
if they continue their hot streak, winning the title will become a real possiblity.
also, went to watch the Singapore Selection vs Selangor Selection.
Singapore won the game 3-0 comfortably.

It's been quite a while since i've updated.

my oh my, how times flies.
school's gonna be back on the 5th of oct.
with a new class and everything, sadded.
yeah, just wanna flood the remaining days with fun-filled activities.
there's still a sentosa trip and the 'still pending' pulau ubin trip.
not bad not bad.

Arsenal's blowing hot & cold recently.
they started the season superbly but faltered at 2 matches. (man u & man city)
but they bounced back with 3 wins out of their last 3 matches.
pipped standard liege 3-2, thrashed wigan 4-0, and beat WBA 2-0 with their reserves (this morning)

have also been helping my dad out with his work at the factory.
was super bored while at it, so i took a couple of pics.
look at the amount of the boxes i had to fix.

SO,
had my first paranormal expedition on thursday in a group of 6.
to the so-called 'Kranji Ghost Town', somewhere in Lim Chu Kang.
quite memorable i suppose.
for me, I didnt really get to see any of the paranormal there. (not that I wanted to)
but a few of my expedition mates had stories of their own to share.
like hearing unexpected footsteps, hearing weird female voices for example.

OKAY, there wasn't any result to my favour in the madly anticipated Arsenal-Manchester United match.
it ended 1-2 in the end, with a victory to MAN U.
what compounded my misery was the fact that Arsenal played really well, as in WELL beyond my expectations. but still lost.
and Diaby's own goal could have been totally avoided.
as the saying goes, no point crying over split milk right?
time for Arsenal to get the team together, forget this tragedy and win the rest of the matches to claim the BPL crown.

According to a news report by cbcnews.ca, Melissa Brandts had set up her camera to take an automatic picture of her and her husband Jackson. After the camera started its countdown with some audible clicking, the Brandts sat down together in front of a lake.

As they waited for the camera to shoot the photo, a curious squirrel came out of nowhere and stood up in front of the camera to see what the clicking sound was all about.

Then the camera clicked the photo and the squirrel was the one in focus while the Brandts remained in the background, out of focus but looking quite amused. The squirrel had appeared to want to be the center of the photo.

First thing in the morning.
it was 11.13am and i was fast asleep.
BUT came two completely unexpected visitors.
well, shan't name them.
turns out they were here for soccer and some 'lepak-ing'.

Understanding Tests 3 starts on the 19th, finishes on the 25th.
and there hasn't been any motivation for me to start mugging.
someone, please knock some sense into me. :D

And there wasn't any fairy-tale ending to the Singapore-China match.
the 0-5 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool FC didn't not do the reputation of the national team any favour.
ended 1-1 at fulltime but China triumphed on the penalties 4-3.
however, the result really works in Singapore's favour.
pit a country of 4Million with a country of 1.3Billion.

the difference between talent pool of the 2 countries is really vast.

well, for most Singaporeans, maybe for least a day. (unlike me)

on a much positive note, my laptop's back and working like-never-before.

graphics card changed from ATI to some intel thingy.
data's ALL gone, well, at least this was anticipated beforehand.

A Week To Forget.

It's been a pretty disastrous week for me.
YES, i used the word 'Disastrous'.
let me unravel the mystery behind this.

First thing of all, my 4-month old Lenovo laptop couldn't function at all.
was at school doing my stuff when the screen hanged.
waited a while before I did the regular by taking out the battery and putting back in. (who wouldn't?)
system rebooted and showed an 'error page' before even getting into the log-on screen.
couldn't do anything for the rest of that particular school day.
NOW, i know the importance of laptops in RP.
no laptop = don't bother coming to school
went to the IT helpdesk and was told they couldn't do anything about it.
turns out it was harddisk damage.
which also means all data would be lost even after I get it repaired.

Secondly, had a soccer session after school with my class buddies.
sounds fun & proper until the word 'injuries' was thrown into the cauldron.
several blisters appeared on my underfeet and toes and the worst of all,
my EVER-RECURRING back injury.
sharp pain fills up my body whenever i get up from any sitting position.
thank god it's getting much better now.

Thirdly, and it's official.
i've quited the table tennis team.
it's like deja vu all over again from the all-too-familiar secondary school days.
like what i have tried to emphasise since then, my REAL passion lies in soccer/football.
you may have tried to question my commitment but i wouldn't have anything to say except that i have made the wrong decision.

Fourthly, it lies in the Soccer department.
Kolo Toure, the Arsenal defender, has left for Manchester City for €16million.
he was the last surviving member of the Invincibles from the 2003/2004 season.
I have always admired his fighting spirit during his Arsenal days and was one of my favourite defenders in Arsenal.
it's really a pity that he had to leave.

Had cognitive module yesterday and it was OUT OF THE WORLD.
actually, it had nothing to do with the lesson.
the girls in our class put on make-up on Rendy, Rezal, Nadzir and ME.
MAKE UP YA KNOW! like what the heck.
all wee chuan's fault. HAHAHA.

Yeah, i was at the Jalan Besar Stadium yesterday to catch a glimpse of the AYG, in the form of soccer.
it was Singapore VS Thailand that afternoon.
with Singapore in blue while the Thais in red.
singapore needed a win to qualify for the semis, but after the final whistle, dissapointment were apparent on the boys' faces.
the score was SINGAPORE 1-4 THAILAND.
felt pretty sad for them as they had been knocked out.
but with Rendy & Rezal taunting me about the result, they couldn't have made things any better.
hahaha, these two imbeciles! :X

His 4-year-old owner wanted to give him a bath because he was muddy. The little boy put this puppy in the toilet and flushed. When the mother came to investigate, the puppy was missing.
The good news is that the puppy is fine. :D

before i even start on this post, you guys may be curiously wondering why i titled my previous post 'Moth Invasion'.
basically, 4 to 5 moths have been flying in and out of my house for the past couple of nights.
one was at least 15cm in diameter.
no idea why these nocturnal butterfly-looking creatures like my house sooo much, hahaha.
okayyyyyyyyyy.

school's resuming in about four days.
i wonder how i did for my Understanding Tests (UTs).
there's 5 modules, namely Science, Mathematics, Communications Practice, Enterprise Skills & Cognitive & Problem Solving.
goddamnit.

tried my very first Facebook game this week: Rock Legends!
currently a level7 drummer, hahaha.
not that i'm REALLY into facebook, anyway.

Sports Camp was rather awesome.
Idayu, Ruben, Yingsui and me went there as a clique.
for me, I got to know more about the school's vicinity.
realistically, quite a number of them came only for the FREE newurbanmale dri-fit camp tee. :D

FIRST DAY, the 50plus campers played ice-breaking games in school. Had dinner after those energy-sapping games. At about 10pm, we started to set up our tents in the school field to sleep in for the rest of the night. But the unthinkable happened, it started to rain heavily! Got out of our tents and were forced to sleep on the seating area of the field (which is sheltered).
SECOND DAY was all about sentosa. Played games again like 'balancing a pingpong ball on two chopsticks' at tanjong beach. Coincidentally, there was a Indian camera crew filming there too, seems like a Bollywood movie.(?) Headed back to school. Had night walk and it was 'zzz' in Agora Hall 2.
THIRD DAY was really WET. Water games in the school field! Everyone was drenched from head to toe (not that they had a choice, haha.) Farewell came then, with only about 30-40 campers remaining.

Basically, it was still fun overall. Made several new friends, including some year 2s.
But one thing which i was dissapointed was that it was not really the sport activities which i had craved for. Maybe something like volleyball, basketball, badminton or something.
Regarding pictures, i currently don't have any as i wasn't the one taking them. ):
DAMN! i don't know why but i feel like i'm writing an RJ.

Arron, Clement, Ian and me were chatting just now.
and we totally agreed that some of us just have that 魅力.
ok whatever. But Clement has to agree, hahaha.

the new American Idol 8 title goes to... KRIS ALLEN! shocker of the season, yes i know. i swear danny gokey or adam lambert were better vocalists. but i don't think it matters who wins, both of them are gonna produce their own albums anyway. all the best to both of them!

next up, it's the super anticipated match of SINGAPORE vs LIVERPOOL. on the 26th of July, kicking off at 7pm. although i'm not a liverpool fan by nature, the thought of catching real-life glimpses of Fernando Torres & Steven Gerrard just leaves me salivating real bad. hahahaha. OK, maybe not that dramatic. tickets priced at $88 or $188. pretty pricey i admit. but it WILL be worth it, trust me. :D

it's been yet quite a while again.

regarding the previous post, it probably wasn't what you guys think it is.
it almost got me and my two other friends into real deep shit.
and it has something to do with the relevant authorities, in the form of the POLICE.
godamnit.

as you guys already know, ARSENAL's season ended on wednesday's morning. (6thmay)
i ****-ing hate to admit this, but arsenal was really beaten soundly by manchester united.
First Leg : MANU 1-0 ARS
Second Leg : ARS 1-3 MANU
but there's always the rest of the premier league matches to look forward to.
including titanic clashes with Man United (NOT AGAIN!) and Chelsea.
as mouth-watering the matches will sound, arsenal do not have anything to play for except for third place.
i will be watching the final, fret not.

on academic stuff, school's taking a toll on me.
reaching home jaded and worn out appears to be the routine almost everyday.
in RP, you are graded everyday. (with A, B, C, D, F)
you are judged based on your participation in class and your Reflection Journal (RJ).
contributing key ideas in class, presenting to the class and faciliator confidently and having a really good RJ puts you pretty much in for a big, big A.
remaining withdrawn and quiet in class and presenting a shitty RJ to the faciliator would confine you to a not-so-good C or maybe even a D.
F would be reserved for those serious offences.
RJ is written after lessons everyday and is almost similar to writing an english composition.
as a result, it zaps the brain juice out of me, making me discouraged for a blog update.
so don't expect me to produce a blog update out of nowhere during a weekday. (except for fridays)

I got into the table tennis team in RP too.
passed the trials with considerable ease, i would say.
still awaiting the trials for the soccer team in RP.
sad thing is that they are focusing on stamina, skills are secondary.
need a good few runs over the next few days.
and OF COURSE, if i get into the soccer team, i would quit table tennis.
as only one competitive sport CCA is allowed for one person.
table tennis is only kinda used as a backup, just in case my soccer dreams were to falter.
will be awaiting 15-16 May; dates of the trials.

i put down a million bucks for an 'Adam Lambert - Danny Gokey' final.
hahahahaha.

Okay, allow me to wrap up this week in a short and sweet post.

Liverpool 4-4 Arsenal was a 'INCREDIBLE' game.
Arshavin scored all 4 goals for arsenal.
shan't say more. =D

life in RP seems to be comparable to a roller-coaster ride.
some days were just pure fun & enjoyment while the others were really dry and mundane.
loved 'science' & 'enterprise' but 'mathematics', 'problem solving' and 'communication practice' were pretty much, a bore.

back to IAN's question.
problem-based learning is about having a problem a day.
and you have to solve it within the day in groups of fives.
at the end of the day, you have to come up with a presentation with your group to show the class your answers.
after all groups have presented, the faciliator reveals the answers at the end of the day.
and there is like, presentations EVERYDAY for 3 years.
most of the work in RP are done in groups instead of individually and there is basically no homework.
feel free to ask more questions if the need arises. (:

having a 'field soccer match' tmr.
Kallangroar FC vs BBDC.
totally short of stamina nowadays due to the always hectic poly life.
8.30am to 3.30pm every single day.
had no chance whatsoever for a workout.
and everytime i head home from school, i would be REALLY jaded.
SO! playing as a striker tmr, one of the rare moments.
cus usually i would play as a left winger. so excited! hehe.
time/place is 5pm at dunearn sec.

okay maybe this post wasn't short and sweet but who gives a damn really.

RP's orientation programme was a enjoyable experience.
held from the 15th to the 17th.
my school, which is the School of Sports, Health and Leisure (SHL), got 2nd for the Principal's Cup challenge.
School of Applied Science had the honour of coming in in 1st place while School of Hospitality held 3rd place.
other schools with no placing were School of Engineering, School of Technology for the Arts, Centre for Culture & Communication, School of Information and Communications Technology.

for those who don't know, my course's the Diploma in Sports & Exercise Sciences.
only RP has this course by the way, out of all the polys in singapore.
so if you're interested in this course, come to RP! (:

a delightful perfectly weighted chip-pass for adebayor to chest and execute the bicycle kick.
it was really, breathtaking.

yesterday's party wasn't the most enjoyable experience.

nothing has happened much this 2 weeks or so.
still, i have no idea/clue on what to update though i still wanna break this barren spell of non-updating.

It somehow seems weird that nobody prompts me on my tagboard after 12days of not updating.

it was a devastating blow to my aspirations that very twelve days ago.
